Skald - An HTML-Based MP3 Player Frontend |
|
OverviewSkald is, as the title says, an HTML based MP3 player frontend. The intent is to provide MP3 playback control that can be accessed easily and quickly from any browser-enabled PC. It is intended to be a companion to a web-based music organizer that can generate playlists, such as Netjuke. For more info, see the FAQ Status9/04/02 - Skald is very early in development. I have something working that I use on my Linux box at home. Here is a screenshot of what it currently looks like. It is capable of loading an MP3 list, playing, pausing, displaying status, etc. Testing has been limited and documentation is non-existent. It currently uses mpg321 to play the mp3 files, and expects this file to be installed (in /usr/local/bin, no less) already. This limits its use to Unix systems. I do not recommend anyone to use skald at this point.I hope to have a alpha release (which only will work on Unix) together by the end of September, and a release that is more OS agnostic (i.e. Win32 and MacOS )by the end of October. |
