Overview

Skald is, as the title says, an HTML based MP3 player frontend. The intent is to provide MP3 playback control that can be accessed easily and quickly from any browser-enabled PC. It is intended to be a companion to a web-based music organizer that can generate playlists, such as Netjuke. For more info, see the FAQ

Status

9/04/02 - Skald is very early in development. I have something working that I use on my Linux box at home. Here is a screenshot of what it currently looks like. It is capable of loading an MP3 list, playing, pausing, displaying status, etc. Testing has been limited and documentation is non-existent. It currently uses mpg321 to play the mp3 files, and expects this file to be installed (in /usr/local/bin, no less) already. This limits its use to Unix systems. I do not recommend anyone to use skald at this point.

I hope to have a alpha release (which only will work on Unix) together by the end of September, and a release that is more OS agnostic (i.e. Win32 and MacOS )by the end of October.
